The Dingo

Although the dingo might look like a pet dog, it is most certainly a wild dog, having existed in the wild in Australia for at least 3,500 years. No one knows for certain when the dingoes came to Australia, or how they got there. What is known about this yellow dog is that it is essential for Australia's ecosystem, helping to suppress populations of feral pigs and rabbits, as well as occupying the role in the Australian food chain as Australia's largest mammalian predator.
